Previously, I slightly damaged the middle trim part (broke one tab). Anybody know the Porsche or Audi (I believe its an audi part originally) number?

Its hard to make out the sixth character, but this is the inside of that part with what I think is the part number:

I believe the part number is 9J1-857-593-B

Yes in the since the camera is on its own independent wifi network that you need to join to use the app. The app isn't great - generic camera app. I intend to only use it to setup the camera and its settings.

I pull the card out and swap in a spare one when I want to pull video from the card onto my laptop. Otherwise its too slow anyways.

So in the end – I don't intend to use the network or app – so it doesn't impact me or carplay in actual use.

They are essentially 2K files – so not anyway as clear as 4K – but also doesn't have the tradeoff of managing/storing 4K file sizes.

I just realised there is a 4K version of the camera and I didn't notice that when ordering. ?

Not sure it makes any difference. If they both use the same Sony IMX 335 CMOS sensor which is 5MP then you don’t get true 4K anyway as it needs to be at least 8MP.

Scratch that - it use a different sensor so it is true 4K. Made the same error myself!

FitcamX has WiFi which you connect to - but it’s local to the car. Cannot view remotely.

Yes it does. In fact its nothing special. When you are connected to the camera's wifi, all you have to do is visit rtsp://192.168.1.254/dashcamtalk.mov with a player capable of reading RTSP streams and you'll see the live camera view.

Edit: But only when connected directly to the camera's wifi - not something you can stream to the internet.

Their WhatsApp support is really helpful, I just ordered a 4K.

I went ahead with the Blackvue:
Blackvue DR900X-2CH paired with Power Magic battery (B-112) and LTE module.
Has auto cloud upload on event and remote viewing using phone anytime anywhere.

Overall pleased with this set-up!

1. How did you have the battery attached to the underside of the seat?
2. Where did you plug the battery into for power?
3. Any tips? Things to watch out for? (I am not particularly skilled ).
