176lbs for 50hp...that's double the horsepower to weight ratio compared to a normal car. If that is your sticking point, I wouldn't hold back. Once you have the car, if you don't have the extra this provides, it's gonna be one of those "I wish I'd checked that box" moments.Thank you. One clarification -- is the extra weight a good thing? Doesn't sound like it is worth the extra 50 hP or certainly the extra mileage
And lets not forget temperature and headwinds.Remember that Porsches guidelines for regular charging is only up to 85% so without Performance battery you are looking at not that much range.
For added range, performance and resale value, I definitely think it’s worth it.
I chose the larger battery. Range anxiety for me is a 'real' thing..........it shouldn't be but it is. For whatever reason the larger battery makes me feel better even though in reality, as many others have commented, you don't need it. I would probably agree that I didn't make an entirely logical decision (but then someone explain to me why spending $140,000+ on a car is logical) but I would do it all over again............as I would purchase my car all over again. And as daveo4EV says........not many people complain about having too much range.All. Getting the Taycan 4S. Is the performance battery worth $5k? Seems like you only get another 22 miles of range. Horsepower?
the article is wrongHere is a link to the article with the spec sheet from Porsche that shows the PB battery as 600v.
