I own a 2021 and 2022 Taycan, the 2021 is a rwd base model and the 2022 is a 4 Crosss Turismo. Both cars are only getting around 160-170 miles per charge. I charge to 100% and my wife charges to 85% but the math is the same for us both, we are no where close to what I see other taycan owners post for range. I have a very heavy foot but my wife doesn't, yet we both get horrible range, any ideas?

The math is the math, no mistaken miles.

Charged to 95% showing 211 miles - 9289 on odometer. Now showing 7%, 15 miles - 9460 on odometer. Works out as 172 miles in 88% battery or 195 miles on a full charge. It shows 2.5 mi/kWh which should be 220 miles, correct me if wrong

What is your average mi/kWh showing…. across a few thousand miles?

I believe the usable capacity of a fully fresh battery is 83.7kWh. So that would be 209 miles at 2.5 mi/kWh.

It's possible your battery's lost some over time - an OBD reader would give you the details and you can compare with ciaranbob's (I think) figures for "normal".

Have you run the battery low (sub-10%) and then charged to 100% a couple of times? I did this and am (very anecdotally) sure it gave more miles. But cannot back that up with an especially scientific test!

Probably a combination of factors we can’t assess from the information presented.

What are your tire pressures?
How long are the trips?
Are the cars kept in a garage? Is the garage climate-controlled?
Are the cars driven with the windows up, or down?
Someone else asked ”what’s the average speed?” That could be helpful.

The guessometers have limitations. As others posted miles/kWh is a better predictor of range. What are you seeing there?

I’m confident I can get 280 miles this time of year in our Taycan Turbo on the interstate, targeting 65-70 m.p.h.

EV’s are very sensitive to ambient temperature. I have a 4S with the larger battery and this is what I got this week, which equates to 309 miles at 100%. Temps here are in the 70s and 80s now.

Here's my chart as of today (May 21, 2024). I surpassed 20,000 miles yesterday, so there are only two data points above 20,000 miles. Note it's easy to trick the guess-o-meter by switching to RANGE mode and turning off the air conditioning or heating, so I make sure to stay consistent by not doing this.

I have a 2022 Taycan RWD and I normally get around 200 to 210 miles on an 85% charge in the winter. I get maybe 225 miles in the summer with the A/C on.

I have two places which I go most weekends so I know how many miles I'll be travelling and how much of the 85% charge I'll be using. Example: round trip out East is 160 miles and I usually return with 20 to 25% charge.

I always look at 'percent remaining': the guess-o-meter is not bad but it is not 100% accurate. I find that most times I get better range than the guess-o-meter shows right after a charge.
