I've been thinking about the levels of Tesla supercharging support:

✅ - Charging available at Magic Dock Superchargers
✅ - Charging adapter available for Porsche, activated with Tesla app
✅ - My Porsche app can route plan through Superchargers
✅ - Porsche can precondition for superchargers (when route ^ sent from phone)
✅ - Integration with Porsche Charging Service (NEW!)
✅ - GPS in car can route plan and precondition through superchargers without using the My Porsche app (J1.2 only?)
✅ - Plug and Charge for Superchargers(2026+ J1.2 only?)

We are almost there!

EDIT: 1/21.26: Added plug and charge for 2026+ Taycans!
EDIT: I discovered the J1.2 does route and precondition superchargers on the GPS!
EDIT: I discovered they DID add support for starting the charge inside the My Porsche app!

TIFIFY - I find the clear "green is good" - "red is bad" visual to be more impactful

this is an excellent list BTW - kudos!

Great suggestion! I’m old-school pre-emoji I guess :)
linked without shame from the Macan forum - cause this list is so awesome!!

honestly I was reading your [x] as "did not have" - with the 'x' indicating blockage or not or no…

the green emoji's are a bit overwhelming - but give a clear visual status IMHO…

again an excellent list - I'm looking forward to plug&charge

if you'd told me 2 years ago Porsche would be on the cusps of support plug&charger with Tesla Superchargers I would've felt you lacked sanity…

but after testing supercharging with my Macan and having the fact that simply plugging into a supercharger results in a push notification to the myPorsche App for the associated vehicle means we are a hair's breath away from "billing" and "auto-start" of the charging session - Porsche has done some impressive work with supercharger integration…

their demonstrated excellence with supercharger integration also reinforced my long standing opinion that the 'problem' with North American fast charging _IS_ EA…

simply compare the experience and results of using your Porsche w/Tesla's excellent supercharger network (everything works and works well)

and then compare to the 4+ years experience attempting to use your Porsche w/EA…

the Problem is clearly _NOT_ w/Porsche - it's the network stupid!!! And EA is a stupid crappy network.

I did NOT know it did that! Think our Taycans will do that too, especially the .1?

I have to agree, Electrocute America is just a mess, poorly managed and poorly maintained.

When it works the speeds are outstanding, but that’s an anomaly not the norm.

I have to disagree based on personal experience. During my recent drive on I-10 through eastern California and western Arizona, I planned stops at two Tesla Supercharger stations. Out of the four charging stalls I attempted to use, only one actually worked. This experience taught me to always include non-Tesla backup charging stations in my route planning going forward, especially since charging options can be sparse along that corridor

Is you guys’ plug&charge always working?
At FastNed, so far, 100% succes rate (20+ charges)
At Ionity and the Porsche charging lounges however, hit and miss (50% maybe out of 10-15 charges). Of course only supported plug&charge locations.
Reinstalled the certificate, no changes.

Wondering about your experiences if we’re going to discuss it working at Tesla;).

Did you use the Tesla app to filter out non-compatible Superchargers? If you used anything other than the Tesla app, the problem may have been that you were at a Supercharger that isn't compatible with your car....

You need to add 800v supercharger access, currently for the only full v4 charger in the US at Redwood City, CA there is no non-tesla access...

Agreed regarding Tesla chargers. Around here there are often inoperable 'pumps', support—at least for my Taycan—is nil. Tesla chargers when with w/ my Ioniq charge is slow compared to the increasingly reliable and plentiful EA stations.

Oh come on, don’t limit your hate to EA - plenty of other CCS1 networks deserve utter contempt.
My personal inverse favorite is Blink, with this particular station paid for by the state of Vermont with VW settlement funds:

Although my brother-in-law’s NEVI station is just as impressive.

I also hate Blink. The one time I've been stranded, a Blink charger showed up in the PCM which, upon arrival, was dead.

I've had really good results with it on EA stations. However, not all EA stations support it.
There's an icon in the Porsche app when it's available.
