I had a Blackvue 2CH DR750S wired into my ipace (by the dealer) from day 1 of having the car. Permanently on and wired into the fuse box. Had it combined with the power magic pro that would switch off the camera if 12V dropped below a certain level (belt and braces (suspenders for US lot)) but the combination parking mode (reduced frame rate/interval and accelerometer detection) in the Blackvue and the HV topping up the 12V meant my 12V never ran down in 3 years. Will see about installing it in the Taycan, video quality more than good enough as tempting as a 4K upgrade would be.
Yes, that also has parking mode but think that one is more based on detection, so it may pull more power in parking mode. I would say 4k is not a must, I looked mainly at dark recordings when buying the thinkware.

I just received a Blackvue 900x-2CH Plus which has a built-in voltage monitor to protect the battery (parking mode) when it is hardwired into the fuse box. I'm having it installed in my wife's car and, if all goes well, I'll order another one for my Taycan which should be here in a month, give or take a few days.

Got Backvue 900X2Ch and will have install done once I get my hardwire kit for my Radenso DS1 radar detector. That way all in one setup up front is done at same time. :). Will let you guys know how it goes!

I take it nobody has had a thumbs up from Porsche that a dashcam install will not void the warranty 😏

In this day and age they are almost a necessity imho

Manufacturers should stop seeing them as a means of wriggling out of paying up for warranty claims.

I've got the same camera pending an install on the CT. I was going to do a install video for it but I still haven't decided how I should route the rear camera line.

I didn't ask my SA specifically about warranty issues. He said they don't install non-OEM parts but pointed me to a local specialist they use. I'm not sure why/how installing a dashcam would void any part of the warranty. Especially if you are wiring it into the fuse box. People install Radar Dectors and Dash Cams all of the time. I'm pretty confident we'd have heard some horror stories if doing so somehow voided the car's warranty.

Agree 100%. Its no harder than any gas car. YMMV, but here is how we did ours:

Porsche Taycan Dashcam in a Taycan? FuseTaps

Fuse box just left of the driver's left foot.
pop off triangular plastic trim piece
fusebox right behind that
used these taps

Manufacturers have certainly been known to make it clear (in the UK) that a hardwired install could invalidate any claims.

Hmm okay have a Thinkware Q800 Pro in my Carrera S and was thinking the same for the Taycan. But worried that the Dashcam will draw continuous power from the system and affect the Taycan's electronics and battery drain. Any concerns there? Also have the panoramic roof so not sure how much space there is for wires to run up there back to the rear camera. Something tells me an extensive install job to look legit. So yeah having a professional shop tackle it may be best.

Yes didn;t have one installed yet (but purchased) when someone hit my other car prior to having the dashcam installed....so yeah want to get it done professionally I can agree with that.
Blackvue monitors if you wire to the fuse box.
Simple install. Run the wires by the door and not in the headliner. Did it myself in a couple of hours. Cannot see any wires other than right at the camera.

The Blackvue 900 has it built in, so no need for the power magic pro.

I had a Blackvue DR900X Plus 2CH installed professionally with a battery and extended battery. I am happy with the installation, although there are a couple of points to consider: 1) both cameras have a fair amount of glare. 2) My phone will attempt to connect to the camera's Wifi when the vehicle is turned off. Normally this would be no issue since you just switch to LTE/5G, however when I do that the next time I start up Carplay does not seem to work (even with Wifi turned back on) and won't connect until I force a connection manually. Not a big deal but was annoying until I figured it out.

I have a VanTrue T3 that is plugged into the 12V in the center console. It works really well but it is front only. I'd like to get a hardwired install (front and rear cameras) done but not sure who to use in DFW.

Do it yourself. Pretty easy. There are pics in the thread on here.

How did you run to the rear window though? I have a Cross Turismo so a bit more complicated. May take it to the shop who did my 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback also to ensure its done correctly. But the Radar detector HW will likely do it myself as its pretty easy...and did my Sportback one and my Carrera and BMW M4 myself also. It running the rear camera for the Backvue that I dread. Also have the panoramic roof too!

I have the sedan. I ran it along the door sills and then up the side of the back seat (and my back seats fold down and folded them down to run it up under the panels. There is absolutely no wire showing anywhere. It really was not that hard to tuck it under. The CT you might have to get a bit more creative.
