So, this started just before Christmas. Got a call from Porsche connect in the early hours of the morning to check whether my car might have been stolen. I could hear the alarm, went outside, couldn't unlock the car to disable the alarm. Fortunately it switched itself off. Had a nice man from roadside come, who did the usual dance (get into the driver door, jump to get the frunk unlocked and then jump start the 12v battery which was dead). He told me to drive it for 20 minutes to charge the battery. I drove it for about 40 (worse things to be doing than driving my Taycan at 4am) minutes, got home and got a 12v battery warning as soon as I put the car in charge. Had roadside book it into the dealership (Porsche Hatfield) and they had it for two weeks before calling me to tell me there was nothing wrong with it (no obvious drains) and to take the car back.
Last week, I got the 12v warning again. I drove the car, charged the car, did everything I could do to get the 12v battery alive again, but to no avail. Spoke to the dealership this morning and the earliest they could fit me in was 2 April. Luckily or unluckily, the 12v went kaput again earlier this evening (alarm blaring, couldn't get into the car etc.). A nice man from the AA came out, told me something about it potentially being the DC to DC converter and that he wanted to escort me to the dealership (at 9pm) because he was worried it might come out while I was driving. Anyway, the car is now at the dealership (apparently there is a 2w window for them to look at breakdowns vs walk ins which are 6 weeks) and I'm feeling more than a little grumpy.
Forums seem to suggest this is a common problem with the Taycan, but not sure what resolution, if any, I should be pushing for. IS there something specific you'd suggest I ask the dealership to do? Dont feel like leaving it to them to do their thing feels like the smartest move, given they did diddley squat the last time it was with them.
Oh I'm also going to ask them to look at an annoying rattle from the back of the car.
Appreciate any ideas or suggestions. Thanks for reading!
