2022 taycan 4S cross turismo on 21s gets 430-440 km (270miles)in summer. Winter Pirelli Sotto 20s in Canadian winters gets 330-340 km (210miles). Range estimate in car is very accurate. It’s definitely exceeding the EPA listed range. I do feel like after the big software upgrade august 2022, the car gained 30km in summer and lost 30 km in the winter.

And all these numbers (the 430km) are charging to 100%?
Like I said the range estimates on car is very accurate. It’s 430-440km if it’s to 100% and if charged to 85%, its 85% of 440km which is approximately 370km. I’m satisfied with summer range but not completely satisfied with the winter range. What really destroys the winter range is repeated reheating the cabin many times a day in the cold weather.

Ok. So it’s pretty much identical to my 10yr old Model S….100% gave me 425, and 90% was around 385. Now it’s down to 360/330 (using their “estimates”). It’s not linear, but I see roughly a 5km range drop per year. Any Taycan owners know how their range figures change year over year?

Those numbers were fine for me day to day….now it’s getting a bit tight, especially in winter. But on a new Taycan this would definitely be perfect for me. Thanks for the info!

What miles/kWh are you all getting? (I'm assuming 84kWh of usable juice?).

I was never that bothered about "efficiency" before and just burned however much fuel was needed....but in my first week of electric driving I've taken an interest :)

Mainly because I've not been seeing much above 2.2 miles/kWh! Heavy right foot and playing with car systems I suspect....but think that equates to about 184 miles on a 100% charge?! (1.5yr old car with 11k miles on it).

Putting it into 'Range' mode and Driving Miss Daisy, I've seen 2.9 miles/kWh (which would be 243 miles). Going the other way and pretending to be Ayrton Senna (with a chunk less talent) and it was showing 1.4 miles/kWh (117 miles!!).

Anyone else still staring at consumption figures in Tube 3?

I can see absolutely no way whatsoever of getting to 300 miles other than me pushing it for 100 miles! That would be 3.5 miles/kWh...

Thanks for that.

Crikey! That would be 310 miles on 100%.

What model Taycan do you have?

(I'll post up the same when I get chance).

Except the miles per kw hour TOTAL is overstated. My car indicates a range that I have never achieved, ever, much less over the entire 12k miles I’ve driven my car.

Driving “normally” in Normal setting I get a predicted 270 miles in summer and 225 in winter.

I just drive the way I want and charge if I need to but almost all my trips are short enough for most charging to be at home.

Based on 5000 miles I’d have to go slow and drive in a very non-Porsche fashion to get much better than 3.0 kWh/100 miles, more normally ~2.6 in summer and ~2.2 in winter.

real range depends on soo many parameters ....

Here two extreme examples:
Porsche Taycan Real Range of Taycan PXL_20230817_181353031.MP

that's about 3.9 mi/kWh. Summer, national road, low steady speed (around 45/50 mph). Feasible ... but why buy a Taycan if you plan to drive it like this every day.

Porsche Taycan Real Range of Taycan pxl_20230619_075628453

or ... 0.7 mi/kWh. Summer, highway, Germany, a bit faster... but if you plan to drive it at these speeds every day, better buy a ICE car: range won't exceed 60 miles here 😁

Now, real use, over a year, at different speeds : on highways, but different weather conditions.

orange rows are for average speeds above 120km/h (75 mph). At same av. speed (80mph), i've seen 2.1 mi/kWh (winter) but also 2.9 mi/kWh (summer)

green rows for av. speeds between 100 km/h (65mph) and 120 km/h (75mph). At same speed (70mph), i've seen 2.2 mi/kWh (winter), and 2.9 mi/kWh (summer)

but also 2.2 mi/kWh at both 88 mph (summer) and 70 mph (winter)

Conclusion : it's between 2.0 and 3.0 mi/kWh 😉... and range has never been an issue, in all the trips I've done in Europe.

Do you mean miles per KWh? If so, 2.6 equals a range of 216 miles, not 270.

So a range of between 166 and 250 miles.

I agree the total miles/Kw seems overstated. Ours shows 3.5 miles/Kw, but when I review daily data, we tend to run between 2.8 and 4, with about 80% of the trips around 2.8-3.2 mi/kw.

This is a Taycan Turbo.
